Wheatgrass – The Truth
Published by Frank on July 26, 2010You have probably listened to colleagues discussing wheat grass capsules at some point at some point in the last couple of years. Maybe you’ve overheard discussions at work or member of the family already taking one of the many various forms of wheat grass but if you are like a lot of people, you might still misunderstand wheatgrass or the true healing power wheat grass possesses.
wheat grass capsules is basically the blades of grass grown from wheatgrain. When the grain is planted it begins to develop shoots within two or three days. A few days later these shoots develop into blades of lush green grass. Within 8-10 days the wheat grass can be ripe for harvesting, At this stage it is worth noting that although the wheat grass already contains large levels of enzymes it hasn’t had the time required to process complex carbohydrates which can be found in wheatgrass grown over winter.
Once the wheatgrass has been processed it is usually processed into numerous forms, which often include wheat grass powder (Usually made by drying and grinding the wheat grass blades into an extremely fine powder) wheatgrass capsules (basically the powder capsulated for easy digestion) wheatgrass tablets (again usually the powder cold pressed into tablet form) and wheatgrass juice. (The wheat grass blades are juiced in a specialist wheatgrass juicer which crushes the liquid out of the wheatgrass leaving essential nutrients intact.)
Most forms of wheatgrass harness a wealth of health boosting properties, with a wide range of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and amino acids. Wheatgrass also contains over 70% chlorophyll, which is extremely similar to blood due to its DNA structure. This means our bodies can use the nutrients in wheat grass very easily.
wheat grass has been around for a long time but it has only just become popular in the UK and it can now be found online and at almost all health food shops. Wheat grass has been in use for a large number of medical conditions and can be applied topically for external skin conditions like acne and eczema. Taken internally it can even help cleanse the blood stream replenishing it with essential nutrients that are essential for optimum health.
